quarterback Art Schlichter could be in trouble - again.
According to a recent report in the Columbus Dispatch, Schlichter is being investigated in a million dollar scam sports tickets. Sources told the newspaper Schlichter started asking people for money as part of "investment opportunities"with the brokerage and sale of tickets to football games at Ohio State and other popular sporting events about two years ago. Schlichter then used the money to make big bets that two sources close to the investigation say that exceed six figures.
Schlichter, 50, was All-American for the Buckeyes and the fourth pick in the 1982 NFL draft. He was suspended by the NFL in 1983 due to the game and was one of the league two years later.
Schlichter also spent over 10 years in prison in 44 prisons and jails on charges of fraud and forgery, for having deceived the people, the money to feed his addiction to gambling, according to the office.
